The weather has hit the perfect temp for me- mid 50's, overcast, and rainy.  Cool enough to sleep heavily at night, or curl up next to someone for hours on end- and the light is easy on my eyes.  I am loving it.  Went to The Island the last two weekends, and it was really gorgeous.  Everything's green again.   It's been so long since I actually shot anything that I keep forgetting to take my camera when we head out- I'll try to remember next time though, because it's one of my favorite places to be with a camera.

Same as always-- Randomly chosen from my "Upcoming Features" folder.  If you see something you like- be sure to click through, because one piece can never fully represent the stunning talent of these accomplished artists.
And don't forget- if something truly strikes you- suggest it for a Daily Deviation.

I'm in Texas, up on the Caprock. Been here for years. I love weather like yours and would kill to be there. TT^TT

I lived in the Panhandle for most of my life. I had all of the hot, dry, sun I can stand for one lifetime..

although, I do miss the electrical storms from time to time. We don't get them here. It's crazy sounding, but I am surprised if I hear thunder more than once a year-- and I don't mean "one thunderstorm a year" I mean "one crack of thunder once a year".. It's really strange. My husband's from California and he's never heard one of those good house-shaking Frankenstein's castle electrical storms.

We're in the worst drought I've ever seen. Sometimes we get some rumbles in the dead of night, but nothing for the past six years. They just lifted the burn ban this summer. I miss the electrical storms we used to have, too. But you have my deepest sympathy about the sun and hot from someone who's spent ten years in the panhandle herself. :XD:

I'm surprised they've lifted the burn ban. I guess that means you guys should be getting ready for the flash flooding then- yet another unpleasant thing. I grew up on the edge of town- we had a huge swath of plains across from us. Every time we had flash floods it would wash all of the rattlesnakes out of their holes and you had to be really careful for the next few days.

It was insane. It really speaks to the determination of the people who settled that area- they must've been tough as hell (or crazy) to put down stakes there and stick it out long enough to actually lay a foundation that wouldn't get blown/washed/snowed away.

Yeah, the good weather goes to the edge of town. Here in the urban areas, it just opens up and goes around us. Stupid rain shadow... :XD:

Yeah, really. I admire my family for staying here so long. I'll probably move once I'm through with school and I get enough money. I need to be where there's trees and rain.

I was the same way- we used to spend the summer in the mountains in New Mexico, and it was always soooooo depressing to go home to flat, dry, & brown after being in all that lush green.

50's? Island?? Where are you? It's been stupid hot here, well, actually, it was nice over the weekend, but was melty the week before.

Oh, I did upgrade my system on Saturday so I can play Diablo III. Got through the Skeleton King towards the beginning, haven't really gone back yet. Hmm, I should play, but I've been reading and just finished scrubbing my bathroom down. Did that with a wizard character, not sure I like what they've done with the skill system, and I agree with the forum trolls that the items kind of suck now. Played a monk for a bit, but really should concentrate on one class at a time I suppose. :(

I'm in the upper, upper, UPPER edge of the US- it stays nice and cool year round pretty much. I started out in the deserts of Texas, and will NEVER live anywhere flat, dry, without trees, or hot as long as I can help it.

Grats on the system upgrade. My most played DIII has been a wizard too. I've taken her to lvl 52 so far.. but I think I've become spoiled from playing WoW with virtually endless quests and zones.. because I find, going through DIII quests for the 4th time makes me feel like I'm not doing anything more than practicing my spell rotations. Yeah, it gets harder, and the gear gets better, but.. to what end?

So, while I love the changes they made to it, I already find myself wishing for an expansion just for some new content- which, isn't at all Diablo's fault- that's the way the game has always run, but my inner-WoW-player wants to quest in other zones already.

I have to say- that when we went to "Whimsyshire" I was soooo grateful for new content that I almost fell out of my chair... of course, I was also damned excited just to get to hack through unicorns and teddybears too, but.. for different reasons :)

I didn't like the changes to the skill trees at first either, but after a while I got pretty used to them, and I like being able to switch out skills as needed.. I just wish they'd implement some sort of "dual speccing" option that would remember a few spell sets.
